“The Bariatric Chef”
How I survived eating after weight loss surgery
If you know me, or have been following me any length of time, you know I am a foodie and heart and I LOOOOVVEEE to cook, So eating after surgery was a huge change! There are special diet restriction both before and after your procedure.
2 weeks prior to surgery is an all liquid high protein diet and after is as follows:
Days 1 – 2 Sugar Free Clear liquids only
Days 3 – 13 High protein liquids only
Days 14 – 28 Pureed / Blenderized foods
Day 29 – 60 Soft foods
Day 60 – solid food
I’m sure you can imagine this is not much fun! I searched and searched for recipes for pureed food, or for a way to make chicken broth out the can taste better. And we don’t need to talk about how sick I was of protein shakes. NOTHING!
Now I’ve been writing recipes for as long as I can remember so out of necessity I began experimenting with my own creations. I have just finished writing a digital survival guide for my bariatric friends called “The Bariatric Chef“
